March 31, 2021

GREATER DES MOINES, IOWA (March 31, 2021) — The Greater Des Moines Partnership has announced that Sanjita Pradhan, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, has been awarded the Certified Diversity Executive (CDE)® credential certification from The Institute for Diversity Certification (IDC).

The CDE® certification is an industry-recognized qualification that allows recipients to gain deeper insights into diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) topics, gain proficiency to be a leader in the industry and lead DEI effectively.

“DEI is critically important to everything we do at the Greater Des Moines Partnership and in DSM,” said Marvin DeJear, Senior Vice President of Talent Development at The Partnership. “We are grateful to have Sanjita’s expertise as an industry leader and for her efforts that continue to help advance our goal of having a welcoming and inclusive community where all can realize their full human potential.”

Through her role with The Partnership, Pradhan provides one-on-one consultation to Investor and Member organizations to ensure they have a comprehensive DEI strategy with measurable goals, provides trainings to Investor and Member organizations on a number of DEI topics and works with Partnership teammates to help provide support to minority-owned businesses and ramp up efforts around supplier diversity as a strategic goal. Pradhan has led the charge on developing a diversity certification program through The Partnership, providing area leaders with access to the Certified Diversity Professional (CDP)® and Certified Diversity Executive (CDE)® certification programs. She leads The Partnership’s Inclusion Council made up of more than 45 regional and organizational leaders to share best practices, celebrate success and inspire action around DEI to create a welcoming, inclusive and equitable region. Pradhan also leads internal DEI strategies that are woven in all aspects of the organization’s work.

In 2015, Pradhan was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the President’s Advisory Commission for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Prior to working at The Partnership, Pradhan served as a Council Member for The Partnership’s Inclusion Council and worked on the formation of The Partnership’s Global DSM: International Talent Strategy. She provided strong leadership to the West Des Moines Human Rights Commission as the Chair from 2015 – 2020 and continues to provide leadership to Iowa Asian Alliance as their Civic Engagement Director.
