Partnership, DMACC Urban Campus to Host Multicultural Reception on April 13

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (March 25, 2022) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership and Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) will host a Multicultural Reception on Wednesday, April 13 at DMACC’s Urban Campus Building 7 at 1144 7th Street in Des Moines. Multicultural Receptions provide opportunities for those in the Greater Des Moines (DSM) community to develop new relationships with others who are passionate about building an inclusive community for the region.

The event will begin with a roundtable discussion from 4 – 5 p.m. where attendees will have the opportunity to discuss a variety of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) topics of importance to their organization and the community. The Reception will begin at 5 p.m. with brief remarks around 5:30, and continue until 6:30.

“DEI is an ongoing journey, and Multicultural Receptions have a track record of bringing people together,” said Dr. Marvin DeJear, Senior Vice President of Talent Development at The Partnership. “We invite leaders and people of all backgrounds to join us to discover more about DMACC’s Urban Campus and its efforts in advancing education in our community.”

DMACC’s Urban Campus is one of the most diverse and multicultural student bodies in the state. DMACC Urban Campus students come from 75 countries around the globe, with more than 95 languages spoken on campus.
