Partnership Announces Call for 2021 Inclusion Award Applications

May 21, 2021

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (May 21, 2021) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership announced the 2021 Inclusion Award is now open for nominations. In its ninth year, the award seeks to honor and celebrate the success of organizations that have championed diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in their businesses, organizations and in the community.

“In a year full of nuanced and poignant conversations surrounding the topics of diversity and inclusion, it is important to recognize the organizations in our community who have committed to listening and strengthening their DEI efforts,” said Sanjita Pradhan, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at The Partnership. “The work of DEI is difficult and requires intentionality. While we are all in this journey we want to recognize organizations that are intentionally investing time and resources to create meaningful change.”

This year’s Inclusion Award application has been adapted to evaluate the responses organizations have had to “Black Lives Matter” and violence toward Asian communities to demonstrate their commitment to DEI, as well as their overall response to the events of the past year-plus and their support to the larger community.

To qualify for the Inclusion Award, organizations must be a Regional Member or Investor of The Partnership. A selection committee made up of members of The Partnership’s Inclusion Council and The Partnership team will evaluate the applications.

The winner(s) will be showcased and celebrated through various media channels at The Partnership and presented with an award at the 9th annual Inclusion Summit in November. The Partnership will also coordinate a full-page feature of the winner(s) in the Business Record which will be published in the same week as the awards.
