Greater Des Moines Partnership To Host Raising Capital For Startups Seminar

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (June 8, 2023) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership has announced that it will host a Raising Capital for Startups Seminar on Wednesday, July 12 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will take place at The Partnership’s office at 700 Locust Street in Downtown DSM.  

Topics covered in the seminar will include: 

  • The Process of Raising Capital, presented by Kaylee Williams from InnoVenture Iowa 
  • The Financial Model 
  • The Capitalization Table, presented by JD Geneser from UHY Advisors 
  • The Pitch, presented by local entrepreneurs 
  • The Term Sheet, presented by Chris Sackett from BrownWinick Law Firm 

“The Partnership is excited to once again host the Raising Capital Seminar,” said Diana Wright, Startup Community Builder for The Partnership. “There isn't just one right path to raising funds – it's a challenge with many ways through it. We’re looking forward to helping participants learn several of the ways that they can grow and fund their business, with a focus on equity financing." 

This year, there will be a bonus option for entrepreneurs and businesses to receive a free one-hour SWOT analysis of their business with local startup experts. The analyses will be done on a first come, first served basis. Once registered for the Raising Capital Seminar, participants will be sent more information on the analyses closer to the July 12 event.
