Greater Des Moines Partnership Announces Next Welcome To DSM USA Reception On May 25
GREATER DES MOINES, IA (April 27, 2023) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership announced that the next Welcome to DSM USA Reception will be held on Thursday, May 25 at 6 p.m. at the Blank Park Zoo. The reception will take place prior to Blank Park Zoo’s Wild Lights Festival.
The Welcome to DSM USA Reception series was created to celebrate new Greater Des Moines (DSM) residents who have chosen to build their career, future and lives in the DSM region. Attendees can meet and mingle with other new residents while learning about community resources created to familiarize them with the region and to help them feel more at home in DSM.
“We’re excited to welcome new residents to the DSM USA region with a magical night of light and culture in this visually stunning festival,” said Jenae Sikkink, Senior Vice President of Talent Development. “This event is family friendly and attendees are invited to bring their families to enjoy the fun.”
Blank Park Zoo's Wild Lights Festival presented by MidAmerican Energy Company will feature 50 handcrafted, larger-than-life, illuminated Asian lanterns. The reception will be in the outdoor Pavilion next to the Bald Eagle exhibit. This year's festival features underwater wildlife, giant insects, mythical creatures and endangered animals.
