Greater Des Moines Partnership Announces Amanda Briggs As Chief Financial & Administrative Officer

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (May 2, 2023) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership has named Amanda Briggs as its Chief Financial & Administrative Officer. In this role, Briggs will manage the organization’s budgeting and administrative process to best serve Investors, Members and the Greater Des Moines (DSM) community while maintaining the organization’s standards of excellence. Briggs will begin her role on June 5. 

“Amanda brings a wide range of experience in both nonprofit and corporate roles which makes her a great fit to help ensure The Partnership remains well-positioned to serve its stakeholders,” said Jay Byers, President & CEO of The Partnership. “Amanda is a positive leader and advisor, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to ensure success.” 

Briggs brings with her 15 years of experience in the finance and accounting profession.  She most recently has served as Chief Financial Officer for YSS, one of Iowa's largest youth-serving nonprofit organizations. Before joining YSS, she served as Assistant Treasurer for W.R. Berkley Financial Services, Inc., where she helped establish and lead a shared financial services team for over 50 subsidiary companies throughout the U.S. Prior to that she worked in financial leadership roles within various industries, which included both for-profit and non-profit companies throughout Iowa.

Briggs was most recently nominated and named Best Accountant in Story County for 2022.   

She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Upper Iowa University and then went on to get her Certified Public Accountant designation in 2013.
