DSM Intern Connection Returns This Summer

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (April 19, 2023) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership has announced its intern series, DSM Intern Connection, will return this summer. The series will feature opportunities for college-aged interns to connect with community leaders and executives, as well as opportunities to network with fellow students while learning about what makes DSM unique and truly the place to be. 

All college-aged interns working in Greater Des Moines (DSM) are invited to attend, and all events are free. Students who complete three of the four events receive a Community Leadership Certificate and are invited to attend an exclusive Executive Luncheon event at the Embassy Club Downtown on August 8th.

The current 2023 calendar is:  

  • Tuesday, June 6 | 5:30 – 7 p.m. | DSM Intern Connection Kick-Off | REGISTER
  • Tuesday, June 20 | 5:30 – 7 p.m. | Networking Not Working | REGISTER
  • Tuesday, July 11 | 5:30 – 7 p.m. | Young Professionals Panel | REGISTER 
  • Thursday, July 13 | 5:30 – 7 p.m. | DSM USA Intern Bash presented in conjunction with WDM YURtern at Big Grove Brewery & Taproom | REGISTER
  • Tuesday, July 25 | 5:30 – 7 p.m. | What Young Professionals Should Know About Benefits | REGISTER
  • Tuesday, Aug. 1 | 6:30 p.m. | I-Cubs vs. Toledo Mudhens* | REGISTER

*Event does not count toward fulfillment of Community Leadership Certificate

“The DSM Intern Connection gives college interns a way to connect to the community through a variety of professional development and socialization-based programming,” said Jenae Sikkink, Senior Vice President of Talent Development at The Partnership. “We encourage businesses and organizations in DSM to make sure their interns know about this opportunity to explore and engage with the Greater Des Moines community.”
