I Just Moved from Connecticut to DSM USA and I'm Very Impressed

Linda Betz in DSM USA

October 9, 2018

When I left the buzz of big tech jobs in New York and Connecticut for a new opportunity in Greater Des Moines (DSM), I was wowed by the city and what it had to offer.

I left my role as Chief Information Security Officer for IBM to take on the same role — but with new challenges — at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines. I want to be a great example of strong female leadership in the tech and financial service industries — two male-dominated industries.

I believe my path is an example of the career opportunities that DSM provides — big, important, well-paying jobs that are given to the best candidate.

DSM USA Inclusivity

I don’t know if it’s the city or the bank itself, but this has been a very inclusive place to come and work. I’m so impressed by people’s kindness and experience.  I’m brand new to DSM — just a few months in — and I’m already joining groups and boards around the city.

I try to stay involved and hands-on and I can’t help but say how impressed I am with DSM. I love to cook, so I really enjoying the Downtown Farmers’ Market, grocery stores and specialty markets in the city that make cooking fun.

Job opportunities and career resources are abundant in Greater Des Moines (DSM). Whether you're looking to find an internshipa jobdevelop professionally or grow as a student, we have the resources to help you thrive.
