What is a Signature Offering of Your Chamber?
C.O.R.E. (Clive Owners Roundtable Exchange) Business Owners Group. The group meets monthly and allows business owners and CEOs the opportunity to discuss issues impacting their business and learn from other business owners. We kicked this program off in March of this year and have seen an increase in attendance each month.
What is Your Chamber’s Biggest Accomplishment in the Past 12 Months?
Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee was created in late 2022. This group has made immense progress in shaping the Chamber’s purpose and goals to ensure all are welcome at the Clive Chamber.
What Initiative/Project Are You Looking Forward to in the Upcoming Year?
The Clive Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors devoted many hours this year to creating a new five-year strategic plan for the organization. The plan includes five strategic goals and was approved in May. We are looking forward to working on this chart of work and moving the goals forward.
What Partnership Tools/Resources Have Been Most Beneficial to Your Chamber Members?
The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s educational and advocacy initiatives are extremely beneficial to our members because a Chamber of our size does not have the resources to back these types of efforts. For example, the Small Business Success Summit gave our members the opportunity to learn from nationally recognized leaders to help their businesses thrive.

Tuesday, June 27 – CORE Business Owners Group at GreenState Credit Union from 8 – 10 a.m.
- July 21 – 22 – Clive Festival is a celebration of our community with fun for the whole family at Greenbelt Landing

Kristy Schmidt
Kristy Schmidt is the Executive Director of the Clive Chamber of Commerce. After serving as a Chamber volunteer, she became the first full-time Executive Director of the organization in 2012. Kristy works to champion a prosperous business community in Clive and to collaborate with the Chamber’s members and partners.
