Assemblé: A Female Focused Wine Dinner

Friday, March 31 | Mainframe Studios
On the final day of Women’s History Month, this event will highlight local female chefs, sommeliers and winemakers. Savor a dinner made by Katie Van Dyke from the Iowa Culinary Institute, Brandy Lueders with The Grateful Chef and Kelsey Williamson from Tangerine Food Company, featuring Bread by Chelsa B and wine selected from women-owned wineries by local sommelier, Blair Zachariasen. Attendees will experience a preview of Ballet Des Moines’ SHE performance and witness the unveiling of 10 profiles and portraits created in partnership with Fearless, a Des Moines Business Record publication empowering Iowa women.

Draw & Sip with Author Denise Williams

Join author Denise Williams in celebrating her latest collection of novellas, Love and Other Flight Delays, while you draw and sip in Downtown DSM. Choose from two tracks featuring an author talk, drinks and drawing workshop options. This event is produced by Storyhouse Bookpub in partnership with RAYGUN and Daisy Chain Coffee.

Iowa Cubs vs. Columbus

Friday, March 31 – Sunday, April 2 | Principal Park
Opening weekend for baseball season is finally here in Downtown DSM! The Iowa Cubs will take on the Columbus Clippers in a three-game stretch over the weekend. Friday’s game will include fireworks after the final pitch, Saturday includes pre-game catch on the field and Sunday kids can run the bases thanks to Blank Children’s Hospital. Check the I-Cubs website for even more in-game promotions, ticket deals and special programming taking place each gameday.
