Courtney Shaw, APR, Joins Greater Des Moines Partnership

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Dec. 11, 2018) — The Greater Des Moines Partnership has named Courtney Shaw, APR, Vice President of Communications. In the role, Shaw will lead communications messaging and deployment and serve as the main contact for media and content-creators.

“Courtney will bring great insight to the team as we continue to tell the DSM USA story loud, bold and broad,” said Chief Strategy Officer Tiffany Tauscheck. “Having lived in Austin, Texas and Oklahoma City, Okla., in addition to other communities, Courtney has a unique perspective to help us shape our message to attract talent into our region.”

Shaw is currently the Communications Director at Strategic America and has executed campaigns for the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council to increase interest and awareness for science, technology, engineering and math among K-12 students. She also works with several other organizations on media relations, messaging and positioning.

Shaw is involved in the community in various ways. She is Board President for Healthy Birth Day & Count the Kicks, serves on the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute Curriculum Committee and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.

Shaw has a Master’s Degree of Science in Mass Communication and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Journalism and Broadcasting with an emphasis on Public Relations from Oklahoma State University.
