Alex Lynch Named Senior Director of Business Attraction at Greater Des Moines Partnership

Alex Lynch HeadshotGREATER DES MOINES, IA (April 8, 2022) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership has named Alex Lynch (CEcD) as its Senior Director of Business Attraction. In this role, Lynch will lead The Partnership’s efforts in attracting new businesses to Greater Des Moines (DSM) and bolster the region’s economic development activity. Lynch will begin his role at The Partnership on May 2.

This is Lynch’s fourth role in economic development, with past experiences as Executive Director at the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance and East Polk Innovation Collaborative. Prior to that, Lynch served as Business and Economic Development Liaison for Senator Tom Harkin.

“Through his various economic development leadership roles, Alex has helped convene a number of important economic development projects in the DSM region,” said Mike Swesey, Executive Vice President of Economic Development at The Partnership. “Alex has a reputation for working collaboratively with regional partners to identify and execute business expansion and relocation projects that drive job growth and economic impact.”

Lynch is heavily involved in economic development-related leadership. He is the Board President of Pivotal Business Partners, and has served as a Board Member of the Mid Iowa Planning Alliance and on The Partnership’s Economic Development Committee.

“I have a passion for working in partnership with communities throughout the Greater Des Moines region as well as developers, site selectors and existing businesses to create a positive impact in the region,” Lynch said. “I am excited to work with Partnership Investors, Members and partners to continue our region’s strong economic development momentum.”

Lynch graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies and minors in Business Administration and Sociology. Lynch earned his Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation in 2018.
