The Leadership Blueprint

Leadership Blueprint

August 16, 2023

Events of the past several years have put increasing pressure on effective and influential leadership. It is not your imagination that it is more difficult than ever to lead. Between hybrid work schedules, several generations in the workforce, the lingering effects of the pandemic, technology shifts, AI and increasing regulations — the pressure and the need for effective and influential leadership is immense.

Knowing how to manage through the events and changes that the past few years have brought us has stacked on top of needing to know how to lead, coach, connect with, appropriately staff, manage budgets, set and manage goals for the organization and individuals, etc. To put it lightly, a lot is expected and needed from leaders for their success, the success of those they lead and in turn the success of the organization.

A big part of the success of a great leader is continuing to learn, sharpen skills and be open to new information and experiences. As John F. Kennedy said, “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” On our leadership journey, it is crucial to continue to strengthen our foundation of knowledge to pave the way for growth, impact and influence not only for you but for those around you. The art of leadership is not merely about guiding others; it starts with honing your own leadership muscles, flexing them regularly and striving to be the best version of yourself.

Attend the Top Five Event on Wednesday, Aug. 23

In an upcoming Top Five Series for Small Business by the Des Moines Partnership on Wednesday, Aug. 23 from 9 – 10 a.m. CT, I will delve into 10 essential components that constitute this foundation and offer practical insights on how to enhance your leadership prowess. This session in the Top Five Series is called “The Leadership Blueprint.”

During the session, we will discuss and provide a simple 10-point blueprint for leadership including ideas and actions to take away from the session to implement, evolve, enhance or confirm your current practices. Incorporating these 10 components into your own leadership blueprint will not only strengthen your leadership foundation but also create an environment for a thriving and cohesive team that is motivated, empowered and inspired to achieve remarkable success. Leadership is a journey not a destination’ continually investing in these key areas will set you on a path toward meaningful impact and enduring success.

There will also be opportunities to learn from the other attendees regarding their leadership ideas and practices with the end goal to walk away from the one-hour, free session with new ideas or at minimum, good reminders for your leadership effectiveness and influence. The goal is that these are easy to insert into your own leadership blueprint. Whether you are a current leader or aspiring leader, you are sure to walk away with new information that is actionable and easy to implement.
