Three New Music Festivals Coming to Downtown Des Moines in 2014
The Downtown Community Alliance (DCA) is pleased to announce the inaugural Music Under the Canopy, a series of weekend summer festivals at Brenton Skating Plaza in Downtown Des Moines on June 20-22 (Americana), July 11-13 (Singer-Songwriter) and August 1-3 (Jazz). The series will be the first set of concerts taking place under a one-of-a-kind canopy being installed at Brenton Skating Plaza in May.
The Americana Music Festival presented by Meredith Corporation is first up and will feature headliners Jayhawks, John Hiatt, and Jason Isbell. Tickets for these concerts are on sale now at musicunderthecanopy.com. Tickets can be purchased for each day or at a discounted rate for a three-day festival pass. There is a limited number of general admission, three-day festival passes, and VIP tickets available. Additional lineup announcements will be made in the weeks to come.

Brenton Skating Plaza is open seven days a week including holidays from Nov. 17 through March 2018. Gifted by the Brenton Foundation, the facility is the first of its kind in the state of Iowa and is the only outdoor rink in Greater Des Moines (DSM).
