November 2, 2015

The Iowa Caucus Consortium is pleased to announce details for the third event of its Federal Issues Series, focused on the topic of agriculture and bioscience. Iowa Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst will lead a discussion on how the policies of feeding, fueling and healing the world will affect the upcoming Iowa Caucuses and presidential election. Brent Willett, Executive Director of the Cultivation Corridor, will moderate the discussion. The event will take place on Monday, Nov. 23 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the State Historical Building, 600 E. Locust St. Registration is not required, but is encouraged. To register, click here. The event, presented by Microsoft and supported by the Iowa Biotechnology Association and Innovate Iowa, is free and open to the public.

The Federal Issues Series allows Greater Des Moines community members and business leaders to learn about key issues facing presidential candidates on the campaign trail. The Consortium held the first event in this series, “Debt Matters,” on Oct. 1 and held the second event focused on national security on Oct. 21. Microsoft is the presenting sponsor for the series. This series is a continuation of the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Federal Issues Series that began with events in February and March.

The Federal Issues Series will also include an event focused on immigration, with the date and time to be determined and announced in coming weeks.
