Raising Capital Seminar Announced For Startup Founders

February 2, 2017

DES MOINES, IA – Startup company founders in Greater Des Moines (DSM) will have the opportunity to learn how to successfully secure equity funding for their startup business’s growth at the Raising Capital Seminar on Thursday, March 30. The event is hosted by Square One DSM, an initiative of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, and the BrownWinick Law Firm. It will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the BrownWinick Law Firm, 666 Grand Ave., #2000.

The Raising Capital Seminar will allow startup founders to learn from other entrepreneurs who have gone through the process of raising equity capital, and learn from angel investors who are actively looking for startup companies to invest in. Many startup founders have an intricate knowledge of the product they are trying to build and the problem they are trying to solve but may not know how to secure significant equity capital to get their promising startup business to the next level. The Raising Capital Seminar will provide an in-depth view of the process.

“This is a great chance to learn for entrepreneurs who are seeking to secure equity funding,” said Mike Colwell, Executive Director of Entrepreneurial Initiatives at the Greater Des Moines Partnership. “We are focused on helping connect our successful startup companies to resources and opportunities that are available to them.”

“A strong entrepreneurial scene is important in building our community,” said Chris Sackett, Managing Partner at BrownWinick. “Greater Des Moines is fortunate to have so many people willing to provide guidance to startup founders as they grow their businesses.”

More details on speakers and a full agenda will be released in coming weeks. Startup founders are encouraged to sign up quickly as space is limited. To register, click here.
