Project Spotlights: Hy-Vee, Perishable Distributors of Iowa, Zirous

At their July meeting, the Iowa Economic Development Authority Board of Directors approved financial assistance on three projects that The Partnership team assisted.

  • Hy-Vee is planning the construction of a new 202,000 square-foot building in Ankeny to manufacture bakery products and ready-to-eat foods and to assemble food kits for its 244 stores. The $64.4 million project is expected to create 209 jobs.
  • Perishable Distributors of Iowa, a subsidiary of Hy-Vee, Inc., is planning a $21.6 million, 108,000 square-foot expansion for its warehouse in Ankeny.
  • Zirous, Inc., an information technology and consulting company, has partnered with Oracle and Hortonworks to offer their technology benefits to customers. Zirous plans to create 11 jobs and invest $550,000 in their facility. Zirous is investing $1.7 million on research and development.
