Project Spotlight: Compressor Controls Corporation & Microsoft

The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board of Directors approved financial assistance on two projects that the Greater Des Moines Partnership team assisted with.

  • Compressor Controls is remodeling its existing facility to maintain headquarter operations in Urbandale and is expected to retain 82 jobs, including many engineering positions that have an annual salary of $95,000 or more. The Partnership assisted the City of Urbandale on this $5.5 million project.
  • Microsoft will begin construction this summer on the first phase of its fourth building, referred to as DM4, at its initial data center campus in West Des Moines, located at 8855 Grand Ave. The capital investment on the first phase of DM4 is $65 million. Construction is estimated to be completed by May 31, 2018. The Partnership assisted the City of West Des Moines on this project.
