Pella Chamber Becomes Affiliate Of Greater Des Moines Partnership

December 19, 2013

The Pella Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has approved joining the Greater Des Moines Partnership as an Affiliated Chamber. The affiliation was formally announced at the Pella Board of Directors meeting last week and will be shared at the Partnership’s 125th Annual Dinner meeting on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014.

The Pella Chamber has over 300 business members, all of which automatically become regional business members of The Partnership. The Pella Chamber joins 20 other regional Chambers of Commerce and extends the regional business community of the Partnership to more than 5,000 businesses.

“The Chamber Board continually looks for opportunities to provide our members additional business connections and contacts, educational opportunities and influential partners to help advocate for business-friendly programs and legislation with the resources available to us,” said Trevor Castle, 2013 Chamber Board President. “Our affiliation with the Partnership allows our members to leverage great benefits, opportunities to network and market to businesses in and around the greater Des Moines area.”

Under The Partnership’s regional member model, business Members of The Partnership have access to a wide range of tools to help their business and workforce grow. Some Member advantages include:

  • Business resources, including a regional “buy local” program, professional development webinars and CISourceLink.com
  • Regional networking opportunities which include Business to Business forums, and Regional Business After Hours events
  • Regional advocacy at the federal, state and local levels to advance policies that contribute to a positive business climate
  • Marketing tools, including exporting assistance, a listing in the online Regional Business Directory
  • Workforce recruitment assistance, including an online job/resume database

The Affiliate Chambers' programming elevates the voice of small business and creates local connections for regional members to access other local businesses and the community at large.

“We welcome Pella and look forward to members’ participation in our regional efforts in 2014,” said Sara Larson of American Trust and the 2013 Affiliate Presidents’ Council Chair and a Waukee Chamber member. “The Pella Chamber boasts more than 300 members, a successful business climate, entrepreneurial ventures, and a Fortune 500 company. These members join an already vibrant program to drive economic growth with one voice, one mission, and as one region.”
