Partnership Office Location and Update

April 1, 2014

The Greater Des Moines Partnership has relocated to the seventh floor of Two Ruan Center to maintain operations while the Partnership building is closed. The Partnership offices sustained smoke and water damage from the fire at the historic Younkers Building in Downtown Des Moines. The leadership staff worked through the weekend to secure temporary space and set up a base of operations so the Partnership's work could resume on Monday morning.

While the Younkers Building is a regrettable loss for our community, the momentum in Downtown Des Moines will continue," said CEO Jay Byers. "This is certainly a temporary setback, but it will not stop progress or momentum on a wide range of significant development projects currently under construction and planned for the future."

Repairs and cleanup of The Partnership Building are expected to take some time. While water claimed many computers and telephones, and most files, The Partnership's computer network and internet survived. Phone service, online and email communications have remained intact. Member businesses and local partners may reach staff through the usual channels. The temporary office is open for business at 601 Locust St., Suite 700, and members are welcome to visit.

"Ruan Center staff have been key to our ability to be up and running so quickly," added Byers. "We are so appreciative of their support, and of the well wishes from our member businesses concerned about our team. We are reminded how fortunate we are to work in this community."

Scheduled meetings and events on The Partnership's calendar will be held as planned, although locations have been moved where necessary. Anyone with questions on the calendar or meeting locations may visit the website at DSMpartnership.com/events or contact Partnership staff at (515) 286-4950.
