New Location for World Food & Music Festival 2014

The Downtown Community Alliance (DCA) is pleased to announce the 2014 World Food & Music Festival will be moving to the Walnut Street Bridge in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). The event is scheduled for Sept. 19 – 21, 2014.

The new location will allow the event to add more food vendors, a bigger stage with expanded music and entertainment, larger cultural and cooking demonstration tents, and an overall a bigger better experience. The event started in 2004 with an average attendance of 8,000 people. Today, the World Food & Music Festival serves more than 70,000 people over the three-day event. 

“We’re thrilled our community has embraced this event and we continue to see our crowds grow each year.” says Glenn Lyons, CEO of the Downtown Community Alliance. “This year is the 10th anniversary of this event, in addition to celebrating what this event has been, we are looking to the future of this festival and what it can become. “
