Greater Des Moines Partnership to Lead Trip to Australia
GREATER DES MOINES, IA – The Greater Des Moines Partnership will lead a Cultural Exploration Trip to Australia from Saturday, Sept. 16 through Monday, Sept. 25, in conjunction with the World Chambers Congress. Through cultural exploration, The Partnership aims to connect local business people to global experiences and opportunities. This trip supports The Partnership’s Global DSM: Trade and Investment Strategy to bolster trade and foreign direct investment opportunities for Greater Des Moines.
The trip will feature four nights in Sydney and three nights in Cairns. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend the 10th Annual World Chambers Congress that will take place from Sept. 19 through 21 in Sydney. The World Chambers Congress will bring together the world’s most prominent leaders and brightest minds. The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an affiliate of the International Chamber of Commerce.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to experience Sydney Harbor, the renowned Sydney Opera House, the Blue Mountains, a snorkel adventure to the Great Barrier Reef and more.
“This trip will help us expand Greater Des Moines’ presence on a global scale, further advancing our Global DSM initiative,” said Jay Byers, CEO of The Partnership and General Council member of the World Chambers Federation. “Australia is a strong market for exports and has great potential as a market for attracting foreign direct investment.”
The trip is $4,199 per person for Regional Members on a twin-sharing basis, and $4,399 for non-members. Trip cost will be an additional $1,099 for single occupancy accommodations. The cost includes round trip airfare from Des Moines, hotel accommodations, nine meals consisting of seven buffet breakfasts, one lunch and one dinner, sightseeing opportunities and more. The registration deadline is Friday, June 9.
