Greater Des Moines Partnership To Lead South Africa Trip

March 2, 2016

The Greater Des Moines Partnership will lead a Cultural Exploration Trip to South Africa from Wednesday, Sept. 21 through Friday, Sept. 30. Through cultural exploration, The Partnership aims to connect local business people to global experiences and opportunities.

The trip will feature a night in Johannesburg and two nights each in Hazyview, Stellenbosch and Capetown. The trip will include city tours that will give trip attendees an idea of the flavor of the city, a wildlife experience at Kruger National Park, and optional sightseeing trips.

“The United States is South Africa's third largest trading partner. Iowa’s agriculture heritage is a natural bridge for trade relations and increasing opportunities abroad,” said Meg Schneider, Senior Vice President of Regional Business Development at The Partnership. “This exploratory trip will provide participants with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the market and industries within South Africa. We will visit urban centers, rural districts and historic sites to experience a broad snapshot of the country.”

The trip is $3,475 per person on a twin-sharing basis, with a single person supplement of $550. The cost includes round trip airfare from Des Moines, hotel accommodations, daily breakfast, one special dinner, arrival and departure transfers, and more. The registration deadline is May 27.
