Greater Des Moines Partnership Recognized In National Chamber Communications Competition

June 26, 2014

The Greater Des Moines Partnership won an Award of Excellence in the American Chamber of Commerce Executives' (ACCE) 2014 Awards for Communications Excellence (ACE) competition. The Partnership will be recognized for its ACE Award for Class 1 Publications, “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” 125th anniversary book, at ACCE’s Centennial Convention in Cincinnati, August 12-15.

“Giants” documents the historic foundation of the Partnership, its predecessor organizations, 125 years of Central Iowa business community’s historical accounts and signature accomplishments, the change agents who helped lift the region to reach new heights, and the vision plan that frames what Greater Des Moines’ future holds. The book includes research and photographs from the Partnership’s archives and was also digitally published, making it available online: http://www.pageturnpro.com/Business-Publications/54137-Greater-Des-Moines-Partnership-125th/index.html#1.

The annual ACE competition recognizes outstanding communications efforts by chambers of commerce across the country. This year's competition drew 163 entries in four categories:

  1. Advertising and Marketing, including print, web, TV, radio and outdoor ad projects, membership brochures and promotions for events, awards and products
  2. Campaigns, usually a complex, multi-media promotion for advocacy, a local event, economic development, chamber image enhancement, a membership drive or other activities.
  3. Electronic, including blogs, mobile apps, mobile sites, social media campaigns, videos, e-newsletters and websites.
  4. Publications, including annual reports, community guides, directories, magazines and newsletters.

Entries were divided into two classes based on budget size and were judged by industry professionals.

Celebrating its 30th year, the ACE program continues to be the vehicle for the chamber community to highlight outstanding initiatives by honoring best practices in chamber communications.
