Greater Des Moines Partnership Announces 2015 Do More In The City

The Greater Des Moines Partnership is pleased to announce the return of Do More in the City, a series of community engagement and professional development opportunities for summer interns. The Partnership will launch the program on Wednesday, May 27 with an event called Networking and Business Etiquette at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Gardens from 5 – 7 p.m.

All interns and college students working in Greater Des Moines (DSM) are invited to attend. Following the first event, a 5-part series will feature components of leadership mastery. Each program will incorporate panels of community leaders as well as social and community awareness opportunities. All of the events are free to attend, however participants are encouraged to register for each event at DSMpartnership.com. The full schedule includes:

June 10           Intra/Entrepreneurship, Hosted by Bankers Trust

June 24           Building Your Brand Online, Hosted by Wells Fargo

July 8              Community Engagement, Hosted by The Principal Financial Group

July 22            Leadership Styles (Professional & Personal), Hosted by Nationwide

July 29            Arts and Culture/Graduation

All Do More in the City events will be hosted at local businesses or cultural/recreational centers in DSM. Interns that participate in three or more of the events will receive a “Mastery of Community Leadership Certificate” upon completion. In addition, all interns will have an opportunity to enjoy a small group breakfast or lunch with executives from the community.
