CarpeDM Music Mix Volume III Artists And Songs

Songs by 15 local artists have been selected for inclusion in the “DSM USA Music Mix Volume III.” The Music Mix is a joint initiative of the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Des Moines Music Coalition to showcase the thriving music industry in the region. The Music Mix features one song from each artist, and it will be promoted at the Des Moines Embassy in Austin, Texas from March 11-19. It will also be promoted at career fairs and out-of-state recruitment events, and available online at DSMpartnership.com/MusicMix.  

The artists and bands selected for this year’s DSM USA Music Mix Volume III are:

  • Des Moines Symphony — Post-Balzac (Steve Heitzeg, composer; Joseph Giunta, conductor)
  • Easy Fruit — King Kong
  • Erik Jarvis — The Way I Move

  • The Fuss — The Knot
  • Gloom Balloon — A Notice from Otis
  • Grandchamp — We Did
  • King of the Tramps — Wandering Kind
  • Megan Ihnen — Bound V
  • The Nadas — Born Bad
  • Odd Pets — Reshonduh
  • Patresa Hartman — Messenger
  • The Plain Mosaic — She Tells Me
  • Tires — 02

A local jury of music professionals chose the featured songs based on songwriting, musicianship and appropriateness for compilation. A total of 44 local bands and musicians submitted music.
