eCertify Hits Program Participation Record
The Greater Partnership is now assisting 15 Greater Des Moines (DSM) exporters with obtaining Certificates of Origin (COO). The Partnership employs eCertify, a user-friendly online tool, to process these COOs. A COO is a document required by some foreign countries for tariff purposes, certifying the country of origin of specified goods.
eCertify transforms the costly, time-consuming paper-based process for stamping and signing COOs, making it a streamlined electronic system. The electronic certification program is now the norm for exporting documents and is recognized around the world. Benefits of the process include the elimination of paper bases processes, faster turnaround time, increased compliance and record keeping, and exporters can submit without leaving their office. Of the 15 exporters now using the system, 13 are exporting companies and two are freight forwarders.
