Downtown Farmers' Market Opens One Hour Later in October

October 3, 2013

The seasons have changed and so have the hours for the Downtown Farmers' Market presented by UnityPoint Health - Des Moines. During the month of October, the Downtown Farmers' Market opens one hour later at 8 a.m. and will close at Noon every Saturday through Oct. 26, 2013 in the Historic Court District.

"After thoughtful consideration and feedback from vendors and customers, we decided to open The Market an hour later during October." explains Kelly Foss, director of the Downtown Farmers' Market. "This will be the first time we’ve implemented the new fall hours, and for our vendors it will be a relief since they will have a little more daylight to set up their stands and be ready for market patrons to arrive at 8 a.m.”

Fall is the perfect time to shop the Downtown Farmers’ Market as it is full of fresh Iowa produce, pumpkins, beautiful fall flowers, meat, eggs, cheese, poultry, breakfast, lunch and more. During the final market of the season on Oct. 26, market patrons (and their dogs) are invited to dress up in costumes to celebrate Halloween.

Winter Farmers’ Markets Scheduled for November and December The Winter Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health Des Moines is scheduled for November 22 – 23 and December 13 – 14 in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). More details will be announced soon.
