Downtown Farmers' Market Opens May 3
The Downtown Community Alliance (DCA) is pleased to announce that the Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines will return to Downtown Des Moines (DSM) for its 39th season on Saturday, May 3, 2014. The Market spans nine city blocks and is held in the Historic Court District, every Saturday morning, rain or shine, from May 3 – Oct. 25, 2014.
“We are proud to be partnering with UnityPoint Health once again, as our presenting sponsor”, says Kelly Foss, Downtown Farmers’ Market Director, “Their active presence will continue to tie our market community to resources for a healthier life in conjunction with the healthy choice they’re already making in buying fresh local food at The Market.”
The Downtown Farmers’ Market will be open 7 a.m. – Noon from May 3 – Sept. 27. In October the market opens one hour later, from 8 a.m. – Noon.

Every Saturday UnityPoint Health staff and volunteers will be on-site with fun and educational programs, health screenings, safety checks, and seasonally-appropriate recipe suggestions from nutritionists.
