Downtown Farmers' Market Opens May 2 For Its 40th Season
The Downtown Community Alliance (DCA) is pleased to announce that the Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines will return to Downtown Des Moines (DSM) for its 40th Season on Saturday, May 2, 2015. The Market will span nine city blocks and continue to be held in the Historic Court District, every Saturday morning, from May 2 – Oct. 31, 2015.
“We are honored to partner with UnityPoint Health – Des Moines as our presenting sponsor for the third year”, says Kelly Foss, Downtown Farmers’ Market Director, “Their active presence will continue to connect our Farmers’ Market community with resources to live a healthier life along with the healthy choice they’re already making in buying fresh local food at The Market.”
The Downtown Farmers’ Market will be open every Saturday from 7 a.m. – Noon. Fall hours begin in October and The Market opens one hour later, from 8 a.m. – Noon.

Every Saturday UnityPoint Health staff and volunteers will be on-site at The Market, with fun and educational programs, health screenings, safety checks and seasonally-appropriate recipe suggestions from dieticians.
