Downtown Community Alliance President To Resign October 17
Downtown Community Alliance (DCA) Board Chairs, Suku Radia of Bankers Trust and Mary O’Keefe, recently retired from Principal Financial Group, announced this morning they have accepted the resignation of Glenn Lyons as President. Lyons’ last day will be Oct. 17. To ensure a smooth transition of leadership, Partnership President Eugene Meyer will serve in a dual role to include interim President of DCA while a search begins for Lyons’ replacement.
“The strength and vitality of downtown has proven to be essential to economic growth for the region as a whole,” said Co-Chair Suku Radia. “We have incredible momentum downtown thanks to Glenn’s leadership, and we need to maintain that momentum for Greater Des Moines’ future. Our search will welcome internal, local, and national candidates to assure we find the right individual to lead downtown forward.”
Lyons joined Downtown Community Alliance in 2010, after leading a similar downtown organization in Tucson, AZ, and Calgary, AB previous to that. Lyons told his board he was resigning to pursue his next professional challenge.
