Des Moines Embassy Returns To Austin, Texas

March 4, 2016

The Greater Des Moines Partnership, an economic and community development organization, will again work with Live Nation to host The Des Moines Embassy in Austin, Texas. The Des Moines Embassy will host programming and music for attendees on March 11-19.

“The Des Moines Embassy gives us an avenue to share our Greater Des Moines story with a unique national audience,” said Mary Bontrager, Executive Vice President of Workforce Development/Education for The Partnership. “The Embassy will provide a great showcase of Des Moines-area musicians and bands at one of the premier locations for music in the country.”

This is the second year of the Des Moines Embassy. Last year’s Embassy experience was largely successful, as it was named one of “The 21 Thoughtfluencers Who Won #SXSW.” New to the Embassy this year, in addition to musical acts, will be innovative and interactive sessions to promote and educated attendees on Iowa’s entrepreneurial spirit and startup scene and innovative career opportunities. The Embassy will further put Greater Des Moines on the map as a great place to build a life and career in front of a potential audience of more than 50,000 people.

The Des Moines Embassy will be located at E. 6th St. and Red River in Austin. The Interactive festival lineup on March 11 through 14 will feature Iowa Startup Stories, an “Iowa Hour” hosted by the Iowa Economic Development Authority, networking, wine tasting mixers, Morning Healing Yoga Sessions presented by UnityPoint Health and more. The Music festival lineup from March 16 through 19 will feature bands from around the country. A special “Des Moines: Hell Yes” Showcase will feature all Des Moines area musicians on Thursday, March 17.

All showcases at the Des Moines Embassy are free with RSVP at DesMoinesEmbassy.com . A full list of Interactive festival programming and Music festival lineups will be available on the website.

Attendees are invited to share their experiences on social media by using #HellYesDM and #SeizeDesMoines. Follow us on Twitter at @HellYesDM and Instagram at @HellYesDM.

The Des Moines Embassy is sponsored by the Greater Des Moines Partnership, 80/35 Music Festival, Iowa Economic Development Authority, Encast, the Technology Association of Iowa, UnityPoint Health, Kum & Go and DuPont Pioneer.
