Celebrate a Family-Friendly New Year at GuideOne ImaginEve!
GuideOne Insurance, along with the Downtown Community Alliance (DCA), invites families to celebrate the New Year at Des Moines’ biggest New Year’s Eve party for kids — GuideOne ImaginEve! on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015. The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hy-Vee Hall, 733 Third St. in Downtown Des Moines. Kids and families can enjoy a countdown to the New Year with a Times Square-like confetti drop at 8 p.m. The evening will wrap up with a fireworks show at 8:15 p.m.
The free event features inflatable slides and bounce houses, live children’s entertainment, carnival games with prizes, costumed characters, a Toddler Zone, dancers and a Tween Zone for children ages 10 and up. This one-of-a-kind event encourages family members of all ages to enjoy New Year’s Eve in a safe, responsible way and participate in a wide variety of activities. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Free event parking is available in the surface lot at 5th Street and Crocker Street and in the Park and Ride Garage at 7th Street and Crocker Street. Metered parking is available on surrounding streets and is free after 6 p.m. Please note: Due to construction, skywalks connecting to the Iowa Events Center will be closed.
