2015 Environmental Impact Award Winners Announced
In honor of Earth Day, The Center on Sustainable Communities, Des Moines Water Works, Greater Des Moines Partnership and Metro Waste Authority are recognizing the accomplishments of this year’s Environmental Impact Awards winners.
The Environmental Impact Awards were established to recognize organizations that exemplify environmentally sustainable practices. The 2015 award winners are:
Business (presented by Greater Des Moines Partnership)
- Business — Beckley Automotive Services
Civic (presented by Metro Waste Authority)
- Government Body — City of West Des Moines
- Non-governmental Organization — Drake University
Built Environment (presented by Center on Sustainable Communities)
- Commercial — Shive-Hattery
- Residential — Silent Rivers Big Transformation
The winners will be honored at the Environmental Impact Awards luncheon from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at the Windsor Heights Community Center in Colby Park. One of the organizations will receive special recognition for excellence in water management at the luncheon. This excellence award is presented by Des Moines Water Works.
