2020 World Food & Music Celebration



The World Food & Music Festival will transition to a virtual, socially distanced World Food & Music Celebration from September 12-20 across DSM. Find out about the brunch March-Madness bracket, the Community Cookout or buy merchandise, including t-shirts, stickers and koozies.  

2020 Candidate Forum Series



The Partnership, in conjunction with Young Professionals Connection and the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute will host Iowa candidates in free virtual, town hall-style events via Zoom. Look for listings for all of the 2020 Virtual Candidate Forum events here. The first event will host State Senator Mariannette Miller Meeks from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, September 10. 

DSM Tutor Connection



Now that school is underway, if you are looking for a little extra help for your student’s learning, check out DSM Tutor Connection. Parents can set up availability, talk through educational goals and discuss lesson plans to create a robust support system for children, whether they are learning at home or in school. If you’re a teacher or college student looking for tutoring opportunities, create a profile to get started! 

United Way of Central Iowa Equity Challenge



The 21-Day Equity Challenge in DSM allows individuals and organizations to understand inequity and racism within out communities. The challenge is free and participants will receive an email every weekday from Monday, October 5 to Monday, November 2. 

Iowa Business Hall of Fame 


The Iowa Business Hall of Fame nominations are now open and will be accepted until 5 p.m.  Sunday, November 1. You can find past inductees and the nomination form here
