Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce Q&A

Why should someone join your Chamber?

The Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce provides 300 members with the opportunities and resources to engage and network with other businesses, enhancing financial growth, professional development and the ability to contribute to a thriving community environment.

Our membership is made up of businesses, organizations and individuals dedicated to promoting growth and prosperity in our local economy.

Our members have the opportunity to share business information in our Waukee Chamber Business Report which is emailed to our business and community contacts about the growth and activities in Waukee.

The Waukee Chamber offers five signature events annually to celebrate our local business community and offer the chance to highlight local services.

Our Board members chair six committees and invite our members to participate in the program of work.  The committees include membership, economic development, community development, scholarship, ambassadors and government affairs.

Any initiative or project that you are looking forward to in 2017?

The Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce’s new office will be located at 208 Hickman in Waukee starting November 2017!  We are so grateful to Board Vice Chair Kevin McCormick of Fareway who has chaired the plans for the build out.  The Chamber's new space is directly behind our current office next to Allstate Insurance and Skinner Paschke Law Office.  Our builder will continue the 1600 sq. ft. remodel through November.  All members will be invited to visit the new space once we are all moved in!

What upcoming events should people watch for?

The Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee hosted the 5th annual Waukee Economic Development Bus Tour Thursday, Sept. 14.  Starting at Mickey's Irish Pub in Waukee, the tour highlighted community information, business, school and residential development. The City of Waukee Development Department moderated the tours on three buses filled with business members, investors and community residents.

The Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce’s Sept. 21 monthly Chamber Networking Luncheon will offer our members the opportunity to get to know our Waukee nonprofit organizations while enjoying Shanghai Chinese!  Twelve local nonprofit organizations will participate in a nonprofit roundtable to share their services and how they make a difference in the Waukee community.  Members develop business relationships, hear from Chamber leadership and have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses at our luncheon each month.
