Greater Des Moines (DSM) has a thriving startup and entrepreneurial scene. The Greater Des Moines Partnership formed Square One DSM to help startups and entrepreneurs maximize success by providing advice, connections and mentoring. Since assembling in 2007, Square One DSM has assisted clients with capital raises in excess of $24 million to date.
Starting up isn't easy. That's why the initiative helps both current and prospective entrepreneurs validate ideas, develop business models, connect with investors, raise capital and more — all with the intention of growing companies and helping them reach critical mass.
Square One DSM requires no ownership share in companies. Instead it provides assistance, absolutely free of charge, designed to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Des Moines. Connecting local entrepreneurs with investors grows the region's long-term wealth, as every startup has the potential to become a major asset to the community.
