Now Closed — DSM Small Business Recovery Grant
A Reinvestment in DSM Small Businesses to Support Our Community and Our Quality of Life
Small businesses are the heart and soul of their local communities. It is these entities that help to make our Greater Des Moines (DSM) neighborhoods unique and show the spirit of our community. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of these businesses are experiencing immense hardship. In response, the Greater Des Moines Partnership has worked with public and private partners to create grant opportunities to keep small businesses in business. We are — and plan to remain — DSM strong.
Polk County, Warren County and the cities of Carlisle, Clive, Des Moines, Indianola, Johnston, Norwalk, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights have announced the final list of recipients of the Small Business Recovery Grant program to help businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 292 recipients received a total of $1.7 million through the program. The list of all businesses awarded is viewable to the public on the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s website. This program was led by the Greater Des Moines Partnership in addition to the participating cities and counties in the Greater Des Moines (DSM) region.
The Small Business Recovery Grant awardees are all sole-proprietors or businesses with 0 – 30 employees that have had restrictions placed on their operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now Closed – Extend the Season Grant
The Extend the Season Grant has been closed. Congratulations to all the recipients of the Extend the Season Grant. Please see a list of recipients here.
This grant supported area restaurants by providing outdoor heating equipment for their existing outdoor seating. Extending the season gives residents additional reasons to continue dining out — or in — safely and helps support restaurants. This grant was open to Members of Greater Des Moines Partnership and its 24 Affiliate Chambers of Commerce. Grantees received actual equipment awarded on a first-come first-served basis.
