Daybreak Leadership Breakfast Focuses on Wellness Capital

The Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute's (GDMLI's) Daybreak Leadership Breakfast series will take an in-depth look at the Wellness Capital of the Capital Crossroads Vision Plan on Aug. 19 at 7:30 a.m. at the YMCA Healthy Living Center in Clive.

The primary goal of the Wellness Capital is to make the region a national model of wellness by leveraging existing wellness efforts in the Greater Des Moines (DSM) Community. Breakfast participants will learn how leaders intend to make this goal a reality. Expert panelists will include:

  • Sheila Laing, Senior Vice President, Health and Wellness Solutions/Human Resources, Hy-Vee
  • Dr. Yogesh Shah, Associate Dean of Global Health, Des Moines University
  • Vernon Delpesce, President and CEO, YMCA of Greater Des Moines
  • Rick Kozin, Director of Public Health, Polk County Health Department
